Geoff Short

Geoff is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, a member of the Law Council of Australia and of the NSW Law Society, a member of the Department of Home Affairs National Committee on Trade Facilitation and a member of Transparency International. He is Managing Director of international trade consultancy Tanda International Pty Ltd based in Australia and is Associate Director, Asia-Pacific of the Trusted Trade Alliance LLC which is headquartered in Vancouver, Washington, USA. His former roles include Director of the Legal Branch of the Australian Customs Service, partner of international law firm Baker McKenzie and Governor of the American Chamber of Commerce in Australia.

He holds Economics and Law Degrees from the Australian National University and a Master of Laws majoring in international trade law from the University of Technology, Sydney. He is admitted as a Barrister and Solicitor of the Australian Capital Territory Supreme Court, a Solicitor of the New South Wales Supreme Court and a Barrister of the Federal Court of Australia and the High Court of Australia. He specialises in international trade and customs law.
