Andy is an Associate Professor with the Centre for Customs and Excise Studies following a lengthy career in the border environment and academia. Andy conducts training in maritime enforcement, risk management, intelligence, investigations, border protection and operational management in Asia, Africa, the Middle East, the Pacific and Australia. 

Andy teaches post and undergraduate courses and is the author of the Maritime Enforcement undergraduate and Masters subjects along with the undergraduate subject Border Agencies and Principles of Border Management.

Andy holds a Master’s Degree in Maritime Studies and has held appointments including as a Visiting Fellow with the University of Canberra, University Of Wollongong and the University of Sri Jayewardenepura in Sri Lanka.
