Professor Amber McKinley
Professor Amber McKinley (BA LibStud., MCJ, PhD) is a distinguished Clinical and Forensic Victimologist. Her research spans critical areas such as human trafficking, transnational organised crime, and vulnerable victims. She has contributed significantly to our understanding of the role of women as offenders in human trafficking and the impact of technology-facilitated violence on victims. Her work also explores victim vulnerabilities and conditional vulnerability related to interpersonal violence.

Her current research projects focus on victim-centred border management practices, trafficking risk profiling and data analysis and training programs for border officials on victim identification.

In addition to her academic achievements, Amber collaborates with key agencies, including the Australian Defence Force, Australian Federal Police, state coroners, and law enforcement organisations. Her contributions extend internationally, including her role as a Visiting Fellow at UNSW. Her dedication to addressing human trafficking and supporting vulnerable victims underscores her impact on both academic research and practical applications in criminal justice and victimology.
