Before joining the CCES as a lecturer, Peter worked at the Canada Border Services Agency, where he gained diverse operational and managerial experience in district, region, and headquarters environments.
Peter’s principal background at the CBSA included managing a broad spectrum of regional and national trade incentives and compliance verification programs, until the mid-2000s when he assumed responsibility for managing the CBSA’s Airline Compliance program.
Throughout his career at CBSA, Peter worked closely with industry officials, associations, and government departments to facilitate understanding of Canadian law and to improve program compliance.
Peter has been teaching online courses with CCES since 2015 including the Bachelor of Border Management (Customs) program in Doha, Qatar between 2018 - 2024. Peter holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Economics and a Master of International Customs Law and Administration. He is also a Certified Fraud Examiner, with experience conducting government program reviews and investigating employee malfeasance.
