3 Minute Thesis Competition Finalist

We would like to congratulate CCES PhD candidate, Iswandi, on recently winning the first round of the CSU 3 Minute Thesis Competition (3MT). The aim of the competition is for each participant to effectively explain their research to a non-expert audience in just three minutes.

Iswandi presented his research project titled “Towards an Enhanced Regulatory and Enforcement Framework to Combat Counterfeit Trade in Indonesia” and his presentation highlighted the negative effects of counterfeit goods, which can potentially harm public health and safety. As Iswandi pointed out in his presentation, given that the importation of counterfeit goods is a global issue, Customs plays a crucial role in controlling the importation and exportation of such goods at the borders. He also explained the methodology of his research including data collection, analysis, key findings and the impact of his research. Iswandi is one of eight PhD candidate who have been selected to compete at the university finals in July.

The winner of the competition will represent Charles Sturt University at the 3MT Asia-Pacific Finals in October 2023. On behalf of everyone at CCES we congratulate Iswandi and wish him every success in the finals.
