New bonded warehouse rules for Myanmar via Webinar

Under a UKAid funded project delivered in Myanmar by DaNa Facility, regulations and procedures have been drafted and implemented which will introduce an expanded customs bonded warehouse regime. Previously limited to airport duty free shops, a range of public and private bonded warehouse licences will be available to support the logistics and manufacturing sectors. Assisting in the drafting of the regulations and procedures was Dr Rob Preece of CCES, who outlined the requirements for obtaining a bonded warehouse licence in a webinar to members of the Myanmar International Freight Forwarders Association, Myanmar Industry Association, and Myanmar Garment Manufacturer’s Association.  Also in attendance were officials form the Myanmar Customs Department and Ministry of Commerce.
