PNG Customs Visit CCES Canberra

The Chief Commissioner of the Papua New Guinea Customs Service, Mr Ray Paul recently visited the Centre for Customs and Excise Studies (CCES).

Chief Commissioner Paul was accompanied by the Director, Office of the Commissioner, Mr Donny Kowrupa and Mr Tim Sheppard, Senior Customs Advisor to the Strongim Gavman Program.

Both Chief Commissioner Paul and Senior Advisor Sheppard have previously studied with CCES; the Chief Commissioner having participated in the Pacific Customs Management Program in 2007 and Tim graduating with his Masters Degree in International Customs Law and Administration in 2012. Tim was also awarded the Medal for Excellence in International Customs Studies.

CCES has a well-established relationship with Papua New Guinea Customs and cooperative activities have  included the design and in-country delivery of senior management programs and the participation of PNG Customs personnel in the Pacific Customs Management Program and the Customs International Executive Management Program.
