Visit by Indonesian Customs and Excise, Finance Education and Training Agency

On 17 October 2017, the Centre for Customs and Excise Studies (CCES), Charles Sturt University (CSU), was visited by a delegation from Indonesia, which included representatives of the Directorate General of Customs and Excise, Finance Education and Training Agency and representatives of State Finance Polytechnic of STAN.

The full Indonesian delegation comprised eight delegates:

  • Astera Primanto Bhakti, Head of Finance Education and Training Agency, Ministry of Finance
  • Harry Mulya, Head of Customs and Excise Education and Training, Ministry of Finance
  • Oentarto Wibowo, Head of Jakarta Regional Office, Directorate General Customs and Excise, Ministry of Finance
  • Rahmadi Murwanto, Director of State Finance Polytechnic of STAN, Ministry of Finance
  • Agung Budi Laksono, Head of Customs and Excise Department, State Finance Polytechnic of STAN, Ministry of Finance
  • Muhamad Lukman, Head of Human Resources Development Department, Directorate General Customs and Excise, Ministry of Finance
  • Fadlil Usman, Head of Taxation Department, State Finance Polytechnic of STAN, Ministry of Finance
  • Nur Indah Lestari, Lecturer of Customs and Excise Department, State Finance Polytechnic of STAN, Ministry of Finance

The delegation met with CCES Head of School, Professor David Widdowson, CCES Director of Academic Programs, Associate Professor Greg Weppner and CCES Director of Vocational Programs, Mr Brent Juratowitch.

The main purpose of the visit by Indonesian delegation was to explore various cooperation opportunities between Indonesian Customs, STAN State Finance Polytechnic and CCES.  The topics of discussion included entering into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to establish a framework of cooperation in the field of customs education and training and to promote human resources development in Customs, development of dual academic programs compliant with the WCO Professional Standards, lecturer exchange opportunities, research collaboration and exchange of information.

The formal meeting concluded with the signing of MOU between CCES and STAN State Finance Polytechnic, both of which are Institutional Members of INCU.
